Lina Kulokova
With a background in healthcare, Lina discovered her passion for technology and made a complete career transition, starting from scratch as a manual QA. She quickly progressed to QAE and later to Head of QA, gaining hands-on experience from both sides of the equation: the strategic perspective of someone leading departments and the practical perspective of someone who still gets hands-on with testing — because she believes that losing touch with the product means losing touch with the team.
Today, her mission is to build strong QA departments, mentor professionals, and prepare the next generation of testers. She is also the founder of QualityTalks, a community dedicated to knowledge sharing in QA, which organises meetups, workshops, and conferences in Portugal.

Com formação na área da saúde, Lina descobriu a paixão pela tecnologia e fez uma reconversão de carreira completa, começando do zero como QA manual.
Rapidamente evoluiu para QAE e, mais tarde, para Head of QA, acumulando experiência real em ambos os lados da balança: a visão estratégica de quem lidera departamentos e a perspetiva prática de quem ainda testa com as mãos na massa — porque acredita que perder o contacto com o produto é perder o contacto com a equipa.

Many QAs struggle to demonstrate their value and the efficiency of their work, relying on the number of test cases produced as proof of focus and effort. However, large test plans do not necessarily mean quality, even if everything is automated.
So, how can we measure quality? How do we contribute to the success of our organization? How do we become active players, making an impact on the business?
