Who can Participate?
- All participants must hold at least an ISTQB® Foundation Level certification (CTFL);
- Participants cannot be part or affiliated with PSTQB or any other ISTQB® Member Board.
Competition Format
- The competition will have a total duration of 3 hours.
- The official competition language is English. All competition materials, instructions, defect reports, and submissions must be completed in English.
- Results will be evaluated by a human jury.
Awards
1st Place: 1.500€
2nd Place: 750€
3rd Place: 500€
- The competition results and winners will be officially announced during the Testing Portugal 2026.
- All Testing Cup 2026 participants are eligible to purchase a ticket for Testing Portugal 2026 at the special discounted price of €75 per person (regular price: €100).

Additional Information
- All three participants must meet the eligibility requirements before registration.
- The registration fee is 300€ per team.
- Payment must be made by bank transfer to the following IBAN: PT50 0035 0001 00033933330 69.
- Proof of payment must be sent by email to info@PSTQB.pt.
- Registrations will only be considered valid after both the payment has been received and the proof of payment has been submitted.
- The registration deadline is 30 September 2026 (23:59 UTC+1).
- Registrations submitted after the deadline or without confirmed payment will not be accepted.
- Registration fees are non-refundable, except in the event that the competition is cancelled by the organizers.
- All teams must be available online and ready for check-in by 09:00 (UTC+1) on Monday, 12 October 2026.
- The competition will officially begin at 10:00 (UTC+1).
- The team leads must join the online session with the camera switched on.
- The team lead must remain visible on camera throughout the competition.
- Teams not present and ready by 09:30 (UTC+1) may be disqualified at the discretion of the organizers.
- The competition duration is 3 hours, ending at 13:00 (UTC+1).
- Participants may use any testing tools of their choice.
- Each participant must use their own computer.
- Additional equipment (such as an additional monitor) is permitted.
- Each team is responsible for ensuring a stable Internet connection throughout the competition.
- The organizers are not responsible for Internet connectivity issues, hardware failures, software malfunctions, or any other technical problems experienced by participants.
- Individual credentials for accessing the competition environment will be sent by email before the event.
- Credentials are personal and must not be shared.
- During the competition, participants must not:
1. Share their screen;
2. Allow remote desktop access.;
3. Use instant messaging, voice calls, or video conferencing applications.;
4. Use mobile phones. Devices must remain switched off throughout the competition. - Any attempt to cheat, misuse credentials, or violate these rules will result in immediate disqualification of the entire team.
- Participants are expected to apply ISTQB® terminology and syllabus body of knowledge in the different testing activities executed during the competition.
- The objective is to identify and report the highest number of valid defects characteristics like completeness, severity and impact.
- Enhancement requests, feature suggestions, or "nice-to-have" improvements will not be considered defects.
- The jury's assessment is final.
- The highest-ranked Portuguese team will qualify for the A4Q World's Best Tester Global Finals, held online in December 2026, in a date to be defined.
- “Portuguese team” is defined as a team composed of professionals who are Portuguese nationals regardless of the country in which they currently carry out their professional activity.
- Apenas um elemento da equipa portuguesa melhor classificada poderá participar na Global Finals. A equipa é responsável por designar o seu representante;
- All participants will receive a participation certificate.
- By participating, teams consent to photographs and video recordings being taken during the event.
- These materials may be used by PSTQB and its partners for marketing, communication, and promotional purposes.
- Participants are expected to behave professionally and respectfully towards fellow competitors, judges, organizers, and volunteers throughout the event.
- Harassment, abusive behaviour, discrimination, or any conduct that disrupts the competition will not be tolerated.
- The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any team whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate or contrary to the spirit of fair competition.
- The competition will be supervised by PSTQB representatives.
- The organizers reserve the right to interpret these rules and resolve any situations not expressly covered herein.
- All decisions made by the organizers and jury are final.
